Nick Smith Jr. is expected to make his highly-anticipated return to the court for Arkansas basketball Saturday against Mississippi State.
Smith, the No. 1 overall prospect in the Class of 2022, has been out of action since mid-December. Before that, he was off and on the court while dealing with a lingering knee issue. He’s played in just 5 games for the Razorbacks this season.
But in those games, he’s been as advertised, averaging 12.8 points and just under 2 assists, rebounds per game. Simply put, head coach Eric Musselman’s Christmas came late this year.
Arkansas freshman guard Nick Smith Jr. participated and went through entire shootaround, source told @Stadium. He’ll be in uniform tonight and barring a last-minute change, will play for the first time since mid-December after rehabbing a knee injury.

Arkansas had made a resurgence on the court as of late, and that’s without the star freshman on the court. The Razorbacks have won 3 straight, with key wins over Kentucky and Texas A&M. Finally, Arkansas might be back on the right track.
We’ll see tonight when the Hogs take on MSU at 6 p.m. EST from Fayetteville.
