Nico Iamaleava throws 66-yard TD pass to give Tennessee the lead vs. Oklahoma

Nico Iamaleava gave the Vols an early 10-3 lead over Oklahoma on Saturday night with a beautiful 66-yard touchdown pass.
Facing a 2nd-and-short late in the first quarter, Iamaleava found Dont’e Thornton Jr. over the middle of the field. Thornton got just enough separation from Oklahoma’s Kani Walker and was able to reach out and snag Iamaleava’s pass.
From there, Thornton easily won the foot race to the end zone to give the Vols a 10-3 edge.

Iamaleava has lived up to the hype and then some in the early going of the 2024 season. This was his 7th touchdown pass of the year already.
Tennessee closed as a 6-point favorite at most sports betting apps on Saturday. The Vols were favored by as many as 7.5 points earlier in the week.
Tennessee is 1-3 all-time against Oklahoma.
