While fans and coaching staffs are focused on the final stretch of the recruiting cycle for the class of 2021, the nation’s No. 1 2022 prospect has decided to commit. On Friday, Southlake Carrol (Texas) quarterback Quinn Ewers announced his pledge to the Texas Longhorns.
Tom Herman’s squad beats out 29 other schools for the No. 1 prospect. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M are among the 30 scholarship offers for the 5-star junior.
He’s the first No. 1 player to commit to Texas since Vince Young. Like Young, Ewers has a perfect 1.000 rating on the 247Sports Composite. His highlights are available to view below via MaxPreps:
