Dawn Staley and the No. 1 South Carolina Gamecocks just embarrassed the No. 3 LSU Tigers, handing them their first loss on the season in dominant fashion, 88-64. At this point, coming within 10 of these Gamecocks should be considered a victory.
South Carolina remains undefeated on the season and will remain the No. 1 team in the country. They have not lost since March 6 of 2022 in the SEC Championship game against Kentucky.
It doesn’t look like that will change any time soon, either.

Kamilla Cardoso led the way for the Gamecocks with an 18 point, 13 rebound double-double. She was one of 5 Gamecocks to score in double digits.
Star forward Aliyah Boston nearly had a double-double herself, scoring 14 points with 9 rebounds. The duo nearly outrebounded LSU’s entire team by themselves. In total, the Gamecocks outrebounded the tigers 43 to 25. LSU never led.
South Carolina is 25-0 on the season and will look to keep their perfect record intact against Florida this Thursday at 7 p.m. EST.
