No. 7 Tennessee baseball sweeps No. 1 Ole Miss after white-knuckle Sunday game

Tennessee swept Ole Miss in baseball this weekend, but it wasn’t without some drama on Sunday.
With the Vols up 4-0 in the eighth, Ole Miss got a 3-run home run from Hayden Dunhurst on a one-out at-bat when the left-handed batter launched a 2-2 pitch over the right field wall. Then after an error in the Ole Miss half of the 9th inning, the Vols saw Redmond Walsh strike out the side to end the threat. Tennessee won 4-3 on Sunday, which followed earlier wins this weekend, 10-3 and 12-1.
The Vols, which are ranked No. 7 in the latest Baseball America poll, improved to 23-1 overall and 6-0 in the SEC. Ole Miss, which was No. 1, dropped to 16-7 and 2-4 in the SEC.
The 9th inning error, which brought the winning run to the plate, wasn’t the only dramatic development. Dunhurst also nearly missed home plate on his 8th inning home run, but after Tennessee called for a review, the play stood.
Seth Stephenson and Jordan Beck each paced Tennessee with 3-for-5 games at the plate.
