North Carolina, Mack Brown ripped on social media after upset loss to Georgia Tech

North Carolina entered its home game against Georgia Tech on Saturday night at 9-1 on the season and having already clinched the ACC’s Coastal Division.

The College football Playoff selection committee, however, wasn’t buying the Tar Heels as a serious CFP threat, as they were ranked 13th this week.

It appears as if the committee was right about UNC, which lost at home Saturday to Georgia Tech, 21-17.

It was a bad loss for Mack Brown’s team by any objective measure. The Heels had been 21-point favorites.

The loss actually hurts Clemson as well, as the Tigers will be denied the chance to pick up what otherwise might have been viewed as a quality win in the ACC title game.

As for Brown, his second stint at North Carolina has been viewed by most as a disappointment given how well UNC has recruited.

And he and the Tar Heels were under fire Saturday night on social media for the bad loss:
