Northwestern lost its starting quarterback in the first half of Friday’s Music City Bowl against Kentucky.
Clayton Thorson caught a pass for a huge gain on a trick play throwback from running back Jeremy Larkin, but it didn’t end well.
Thorson’s knee appeared to bend in a weird way when he was tackled.
It is unknown at this time whether or not he’ll be able to return to the game, but things weren’t looking too positive when the injury occurred. Thorson had to be carted off the field.
Northwestern was leading Kentucky 10-7 at the time of this post, midway through the second quarter. Thorson was replaced by backup Matt Alviti.
Thorson had thrown for over 2,800 yards and 15 touchdowns this season coming into the bowl game.
