The 4 Heisman Trophy finalists this year are Alabama WR DeVonta Smith, Alabama QB Mac Jones, Florida QB Kyle Trask and Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence.

The other top-10 vote-getters were, in order from 5-10, Alabama RB Najee Harris, Iowa State RB Breece Hall, Ohio State QB Justin Fields, BYU QB Zach Wilson, Notre Dame QB Ian Book and Florida TE Kyle Pitts.

By being a tight end to crack the top 10 in Heisman voting, Pitts did something that hasn’t been done in 43 years:

It’s no surprise he cracked the top 10. In fact, if he hadn’t missed a couple of games with an injury, it’s entirely possible he could have been a top 7 vote-getter, or even higher!

Pitts won’t play in the Gators’ bowl game in order to prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft, where he’s expected to be a first-round pick. He finished the 2020 season with 43 catches for 770 yards and 12 touchdowns.
