Notre Dame is a member of the ACC in non-football sports. And, during the pandemic-altered 2020 season, the Fighting Irish competed in the ACC on the gridiron, as well.

So far, the Irish have been reluctant to permanently join a conference in football, but that could possibly change soon. On Thursday, news broke that USC and UCLA were exploring a move from the Pac-12 to the Big Ten.

If that happens, Notre Dame might be motivated to finally join either the Big Ten or the SEC. Naturally, Thursday’s report from Jon Wilner of Pac-12 Hotline generated plenty of discussion, much of it focusing on the future of Notre Dame, as you can see below:

The next few months are going to be crucial for the future of Notre Dame football. We’ll see which direction the Fighting Irish take.
