Mark Stoops and his Kentucky Wildcats will get some added motivation for Wednesday night’s spring game, as one of their biggest fans will be there to lead the charge.
Ryan Cremeens, a 9-year-old that suffered from a rare form of cancer, has been a Kentucky fan his whole life. He even dreams of playing for the Wildcats one day once his health issues subside, and ESPN did a wonderful profile on Cremeens.
That reality got a step closer on March 30, as he underwent his final session of chemo and he was discharged from the hospital shortly thereafter. With his health checked off the list, the Wildcats decided to give his dreams another boost by allowing him to put on the Kentucky blue and lead the team out on the field for their spring game.
The team has been supportive throughout Cremeens’ journey, and his father referred to Friday night’s game as the process coming “full circle”:

Best of luck to Ryan, and no matter which Kentucky squad wins on Friday, he will come out with an experience of a lifetime.
Make sure you read ESPN’s fantastic profile of Ryan.
