No. 6 defensive tackle for 2016 considering trio of SEC schools in top 5

Three SEC schools are in the running for one of the highest-rated defensive tackles in the Class of 2016, at least as rated by Rivals.com.

D’Andre Christmas-Giles, out of New Orleans, La., announced that South Carolina, LSU and Ole Miss are among his top five. On Thursday afternoon, Christmas-Giles tweeted out his top 5, which also included Texas and TCU.

2. LSU
3. Texas
4. TCU
5. Ole Miss

The 6-foot-3, 290-pounder is rated as the sixth-best defensive tackle in the class and a four-star prospect, according to Rivals.com, but the site’s rankings haven’t been updated since Dec. 9.

Meanhile, Christmas-Giles is only rated as the 40th-best DT in the class and a three-star prospect in updated rankings by 247Sports.

Nonetheless, Christmas-Giles has been offered by several top schools, including Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, TCU, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M, among others.
