The investigation at Ohio State concluded on Sunday night, but there hadn’t been any further developments in the ongoing saga.

However, on Monday, Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel reported that the Ohio State Board of Trustees have scheduled a meeting to discuss the situation involving coach Urban Meyer on Wednesday at 9 a.m. It’s not clear when final decisions will be made, but this meeting will be the next step.

Meyer is on administrative leave after he denied that he knew of domestic violence allegations against one of his former assistants, Zach Smith. Smith, the former wide receivers coach who was fired last month, allegedly committed domestic violence in 2015, according to Smith’s ex-wife.

The situation has been unclear as conflicting reports have been released stating how the situation went down. Some paint Smith in a negative light, while others have denied the allegations made by his ex-wife. And some claim that Meyer and his wife knew of the allegations when they were made.

However it unfolds, the tw0-week investigation that just concluded will hopefully give some answers regarding the situation. Perhaps Wednesday’s meeting will play a key role in deciding a date for the final decisions to be announced.

Ohio State opens the season against Oregon State on Sept. 1, and it’s unknown if Meyer will be there to lead the Buckeyes.
