Oklahoma landed an elite quarterback prospect on Monday evening.

Jaden O’Neal, a 4-star passer from Long Beach, California, announced his commitment to the Sooners. He also had offers from programs such as Ohio State, Miami and Florida State, amongst others.

O’Neal is one of the best high school quarterbacks in the country, regardless of class. He’s the No. 64 overall player and the No. 6 quarterback in the country for the class of 2026, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 10 player from the state of California.

O’Neal picked up an Ohio State offer just a week ago, making this an even more-impressive recruiting win for the Sooners. He’s also made trips to Florida State and Texas this month.

Oklahoma initially offered O’Neal a scholarship back in February of this year. He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds.

Oklahoma now has elite quarterback prospects committed in its 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes. 4-star QB Kevin Sperry has been committed to the Sooners since March of 2023.

It’s still very early in the 2026 recruiting cycle, but the Sooners are off to a strong start. Oklahoma has 3 commits so far in that class, all on the offensive side of the ball. OU’s 2026 class currently ranks 3rd nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Here are some highlights from O’Neal’s sophomore season of high school football:
