Oklahoma is bringing in a running back with plenty of experience from the portal in Samuel Franklin.

Franklin played at UT-Martin from 2021-2023. He accounted for 2,2129 yards rushing and 20 touchdowns over the last 3 seasons with the Skyhawks. Franklin played in 24 games during that time.

There were a lot of teams looking to bring Franklin to their program. He had transfer offers from Texas Tech, Indiana, South Carolina, USC, Arkansas, and Memphis. At the end of the day, he’s heading to Norman to play in the SEC next year.

The Sooners have been busy in the transfer portal in the last couple of days. They added former Purdue wideout Deion Burks from the portal on Tuesday.

Oklahoma had a much-improved finish in 2023 after winning 6 games a season ago. Brent Venables turned things around in year 2 and won 10 games in the regular season. The Sooners face Arizona in the Alamo Bowl next on Dec. 28. Kickoff will be at 9:15 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN+.
