Oklahoma is gearing up for the annual Red Rivalry Rivalry showdown with Texas.

This rivalry game is always highly-anticipated and usually high-scoring. In this year’s game, The No. 1 Longhorns are looking to stay on top of the college football world, while the No. 18 Sooners are looking for an upset win that would catapult them back into the College Football Playoff picture.

Ahead of the matchup, the Sooners have revealed who the team captains will be.

Defensive linemen Ethan Downs and Damonic Williams, defensive back Billy Bowman Jr., linebacker Danny Stutsman, tight end Bauer Sharp, and offensive lineman Febechi Nwaiwu will be the captains for this rivalry showdown.

Downs has collected 10 tackles and 1 sack for the Sooners in 2024, while Williams has 12 tackles and 1 sack.

Bowman is 3rd on the team with 23 tackles and 1 INT, while Stutsman leads the team with 40 tackles.

Sharp is 2nd on the team with 18 catches for 159 yards and 1 TD, while Nwaiwu has impressed in his 1st season with the Sooners after transferring from North Texas.

Nwaiwu and Williams were also captains for the Tennessee game, Downs was a captain for the Houston game, and Sharp, Stutsman, and Bowman were captains against Temple.

These rivals have played 119 times with the Longhorns getting 63 wins, the Sooners getting 51, and the teams tying 5 times. In 2023, the Sooners escaped with a 34-30 win after racking up almost 500 yards of offense.

This historic rivalry game will kick off from the Cotton Bowl on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
