Florida State opted not to pitch Kathryn Sandercock in Game 1, instead saving her for Game 2 on Thursday night. Mack Leonard got the start in the circle and put 3 zeroes on the board before running into trouble in the 4th inning.
Oklahoma scored 3 runs in the 4th, 1 in the 5th and 1 in the 6th to seal the win. Kinzie Hansen delivered the key hit, driving in pinch-runner Jordy Bahl with a 2-out double to put Oklahoma on the board. Hansen also drove in a run in the 5th inning with a RBI single.
In the circle, Bahl was dominant. She pitched a 2-hit shutout while striking out 10 Florida State batters. She needed just 97 pitches to record the complete game.
First pitch of Game 2 in Oklahoma City is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
