Oklahoma has spent the weekend adding to its top-ranked 2027 recruiting class. After four commitments on Saturday, the Sooners added a fifth pledge on Sunday.
Greydon Howell, an in-state player with an athlete designation, is the latest player to commit to Oklahoma. Howell revealed his decision to On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Sunday afternoon.
Howell is one of the state of Oklahoma’s top recruits, ranking No. 10 in that category on 247Sports’ Composite. At Broken Bow High School, he has primarily played as a dual-threat quarterback. He passed for 2,817 yards and 27 touchdowns versus just seven interceptions as a junior as he helped the Savages to a 11-2 mark in 2025. That’s on top of the 1,514 yards and 20 TDs he rolled up on the ground. He’s also lined up at defensive back, as well.
Brent Venables has taken advantage of the momentum of the Sooners’ first College Football Playoff appearance since 2019 and has put together what’s ranked by 247Sports as the top-ranked class in the 2027 cycle. It’s a group that’s led by four-star offensive tackle Kaeden Penny, the nation’s No. 21 overall player and the No. 2 OT in the country.
On Saturday, Seneca Driver, the No. 2 tight end, committed to the Sooners, along with Jaylen Scott, the No. 11 safety. Top 25 quarterback Jamison Roberts and Top 5 interior offensive lineman Tyson Ross pledged as well.
