Oklahoma linebacker Kip Lewis gave the Sooners their first lead of the second half on Saturday night on the Plains with a tremendous defensive play.

Lewis picked off Payton Thorne on 3rd down and took it back 63 yards to the house to give OU a 22-21 lead. Michael Hawkins then converted a 2-point conversion to make it 24-21 with just over 4 minutes remaining in the game.

Here’s a clip of Lewis’ big play:

Oklahoma trailed 21-10 earlier in the quarter, but have since taken control of the game. The Sooners forced a missed field goal from Auburn and then responded with a quick touchdown drive to make it a one-score game.

Then it was Lewis who put the Sooners on top for the first time since they led 7-0 in the first half.

Oklahoma’s offense has struggled mightily for much of this game, but the Sooners are still in position to potentially win their first-ever SEC road game thanks to that pick-6.

Oklahoma entered the day with a nation-leading 12 takeaways on the year.
