After playing for three years at Rhode Island, an FCS school, OL Tyler Catalina decided to head south to play for the Georgia Bulldogs as a graduate transfer.

Though the season hasn’t gone according to plan and the Bulldogs’ offensive line has struggled at times, Catalina told Macon.com that he has no regrets with his decision:

“It seems like we’ve been the scapegoats for quite some time,” Catalina said with a smile. “It’s been a tremendous experience all the way through. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

Catalina said he has enjoyed competing against some of the nation’s best defenses on a weekly basis:

“That was the whole reason I came here, to compete against the best talent in the country and prove myself worthy of playing at the next level,” Catalina said.

The 5-4 Bulldogs are still alive in the SEC East, though they’re hanging by a thread at the moment.

If Catalina and his teammates on the offensive line can get the running game going and pull off a major upset against Auburn this weekend, Georgia may have a chance to go to the SEC Championship Game.
