Ole Miss assistant reportedly departs for AAC offensive coordinator position
Ole Miss assistant John David Baker is reportedly leaving the SEC to be the offensive coordinator at East Carolina, per 247Sports’ Tyler Komis on Friday.
Baker had been the tight ends coach at Ole Miss for the last 3 seasons.
Baker had the task of working with Memphis transfer Caden Prieskorn this season. Prieskorn led all Rebel TEs in receiving yards and was 3rd on the team with 313 yards receiving.

The Pirates decided it was time for change after finishing toward the bottom of the conference in yards per game (277.3). Former OC Donnie Kirkpatrick was let go by the team after the 10-0 loss to Navy.
However, things were good at Ole Miss as the offense was humming in Oxford this year. Ole Miss finished at the top of the SEC in plays per game (70.1) and 3rd in total yards per game (455.4)
The Pirates will be hoping that Baker can help them achieve similar numbers.
Ole Miss finished the regular season at 10-2 and is waiting to see who it’ll play in its bowl game.
