Bad news today for the Ole Miss Rebels basketball program. Rebels freshman Mcdonald’s All-American Daeshun Ruffin, will be out for 4 weeks with a broken hand, according to a report by David Johnson of Inside the Rebels.

The good news is that Ruffin’s injury will not require surgery. The freshman played in the Rebels opening night victory over New Orleans where the injury occurred. In 15 minutes of play, he scored 4 points. The injury happened to Ruffin’s shooting hand.

Ruffin, who is from Mississippi, was the Rebels first high school All-American to play for this team. He was Mississippi High School Basketball player of the year for 2021 and he was ranked the No. 52 basketball player coming out of high school on the 247Sports Composite.

Ruffin averaged 33 points, 3.3 rounds and 2 assists per game as a senior.
