Ole Miss beats out multiple SEC programs for 4-star safety in class of 2024
Ole Miss added a key player to its 2024 recruiting class on Sunday.
The Rebels picked up a commitment from 4-star safety Travaris Banks. He chose Ole Miss over programs like Auburn, Florida, Mississippi State and Florida State, amongst others.

Banks is an elite prospect. He’s the No. 158 overall player and the No. 13 safety in the country for the class of 2024, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 10 player from the state of Alabama.
He attends Hillcrest High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He’s listed at 6-foot-2, 195 pounds.
Banks initially earned an offer from Ole Miss back in June of 2022. He took multiple unofficial visits to campus last fall before making his decision.
Ole Miss now has 11 commits in the class of 2024. The group includes one other defensive back: 3-star cornerback Patrick Broomfield. Overall, Ole Miss’ class ranks in the top 25 nationally according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
