Ole Miss did end up losing a coach to Auburn, but Rebels fans are glad it wasn’t head coach Lane Kiffin.
OL coach Jake Thornton made the move from the Rebels to the Tigers, and now it seems Kiffin has found a replacement for his staff entering 2023.
Per Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports, Ole Miss is expected to add NC State OL coach John Garrison to the same role on Kiffin’s staff:
Ole Miss is expected to hire NC State’s John Garrison as offensive line coach, sources tell @on3sports.

As mentioned by Zenitz in the above tweet, Garrison has coached 3 All-ACC linemen in the 2021 and 2022 seasons. Ikem Ekwonu was the No. 6 overall pick by the Carolina Panthers in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Garrison was a member of Kiffin’s staff at Florida Atlantic in 2018.
Can he produce some All-SEC linemen and NFL Draft picks at Ole Miss? We’ll see who Kiffin, Garrison and company recruit and find in the transfer portal this offseason.
