Ole Miss on Saturday picked up its initial commitment for the class of 2027 as in-state offensive tackle Li’Marcus Jones pledged to the Rebels.
Jones made the announcement via a post on X:
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Jones currently has 3 offers: Arkansas State and Liberty are the other two programs outside of Ole Miss that have extended one. Florida and Florida State have also shown interest.
Lane Kiffin and his staff wrapped up the nation’s 15th-ranked incoming recruiting class a few months ago, with his transfer class coming in at No. 2. Three players from the class of 2026 have committed thus far: running back Ja’Michael Jones, wide receiver Jameson Powell, and athlete Zion Legree. But the Rebels hadn’t had a player pledged to the 2027 class until Saturday when Li’Marcus Jones (no relation to Ja’Michael) announced his commitment.
The Rebels are coming off a third 10-win season in five seasons under Kiffin, going 10-3 (5-3 SEC) and winning the Gator Bowl. Before 2021, his second season in charge, the program had posted just 1 season of 10 wins or more.
Decorated quarterback Jaxson Dart declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, with Austin Simmons the likely starter in his place for the upcoming season.
