Ole Miss linebacker Ashanti Cistrunk has withdrawn his name from the transfer portal, according to a report.

That’s per On3’s Matt Zenitz. Cistrunk entered the portal back in January along with several of his teammates, but instead will return to Oxford for the 2023 season.

Cistrunk finished 5th on the team in tackles last season with 72. He was a key player on a Rebels defense that’s hoping to take another big step forward in 2023.

Ole Miss brought in Alabama defensive coordinator Pete Golding earlier this offseason.

Cistrunk is from Louisville, Mississippi. He just finished his 4th season with the Rebels. He was a 3-star prospect in the class of 2019 and has developed into a productive player on Ole Miss’ defense.

In his career, Cistrunk has recorded 6.5 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 1 interception and 3 forced fumbles.
