Ole Miss cornerback Chris Graves Jr. has spent three seasons with the program.
After the Rebels’ loss to Miami in the College Football Playoff semifinals, though, it looks like he is ready for a fresh start elsewhere. Graves on Saturday revealed to On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he will enter the transfer portal. He will have one season of eligibility remaining.
Graves, a 2022 four-star recruit, originally signed with Miami, where he was a redshirt in his sole season with the Hurricanes. Afterwards, he entered the transfer portal and joined Ole Miss.
In 2023, he appeared in 13 games with the Rebels, starting once and recording 13 tackles. In 2024, he posted 15 tackles. In 2025, his role expanded as he put together his best season yet. He made 33 tackles, four pass breakups, forced a fumble and was credited with half of a tackle for a loss.
Graves is the eighth Ole Miss player to enter the portal. He joins offensive lineman Ethan Fields, cornerback Ricky Fletcher, linebacker Jaden Yates, wide receiver Winston Watkins, offensive tackle PJ Wilkins, running back Domonique Thomas, and quarterback Austin Simmons.
Simmons, who started the season as the Rebels’ starting quarterback before his injury paved the way for Trinidad Chambliss, has committed to Mizzou. Wilkins has pledged to Wisconsin.
