Ole Miss’ Charlie Weis Jr. spoke to the media about the QB situation in Oxford. On3 Sports’ Chuck Rounsaville reported on what was said.

Many Ole Miss fans will be expecting Jaxson Dart to man the QB room again in 2023. However, there is a challenge in handling a group that has the likes of Spencer Sanders, Walker Howard, and Austin Simmons.

Weis talked about how to best manage the situation.

The challenge is we have four guys who are high-caliber players and we have to get all four ready to play. We have to give them all an opportunity to show us and show their teammates what they can do. Being able to manage those reps and opportunities for those guys has been a challenge, but it has been a fun room to work with. I commend them for how they have handled the competition in a mature way. They come to work each and every day to get better.

It sounds like Weis has been impressed with the maturity level of each of his quarterbacks have handled things so far in camp.

The Rebels begin the 2023 season against Mercer on Sept. 2. Kickoff will be at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
