The Rebels became the first SEC program to secure 10 commitments for the 2019 recruiting cycle on Friday as Wichita Falls, Texas native Lloyd Murray has pledged to join Matt Luke’s Ole Miss program.

If you want to see how well Luke’s message is currently resonating on the recruiting trail, you need to look no further than the program’s 2019 team recruiting ranking — Ole Miss currently has the nation’s No. 3 recruiting class and the second best in the SEC, behind only Georgia. While that lofty ranking is due in part to having the most commitments in the league, it’s still a tremendously positive sign that things are headed in the right direction in Oxford under Luke.

Rated as an early three-star prospect, judging by Murray’s scholarship offer list, he could be making a big jump in the recruiting rankings by the time his senior season is over. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Ohio State and USC have all offered him a scholarship.

Murray posted this note to Twitter on Friday announcing his decision to commit to the Rebels:

Ole Miss now has three defensive linemen committed for 2019 and six defensive prospects total.
