HOOVER, Ala. — Buried inside the Ole Miss media guide distributed Monday at SEC Media Days is an updated depth chart for the Rebels.
There weren’t many great surprises. Ryan Buchanan, Chad Kelly and DeVante Kincade are listed as “OR” starters at quarterback, in that order. That dovetails with what coach Hugh Freeze told the media at the end of spring practice, and at least Buchanan and Kelly should compete throughout fall practice for that job.
Interestingly, the 6-foot-3, 302-pound Jeremy Liggins, who practiced at offensive tackle during the spring, has migrated back to tight end on the current depth chart. Ole Miss recently dismissed backup tight end Sammie Epps and lacks depth at the position.
Tee Shepard, a JUCO transfer who sat out last season, is expected to start at one of the cornerback spots. But on this depth chart, he’s listed as an “OR” starter along with Kendarius Webster.
