Ole Miss athletic director Ross Bjork has never been one to shy away from sharing his true feelings on Twitter. He reminded us of this on Wednesday night, a few hours removed from the Rebels’ deflating 42-3 loss to TCU in the Peach Bowl.
Marshall Ramsey, a cartoonist for the Clarion-Ledger newspaper in Jackson, Mississippi, made a joke at quarterback Bo Wallace’s expense following the game (Wallace was 10 of 23 passing for 109 yards and threw three-first half interceptions).
Bjork did not take too kindly to the remarks, igniting the following back and forth between Ramsey and Bjork.
Wonder if Bo will be asked to drop the ball tonight. #NewYearsEve

@MarshallRamsey Thought better of you than this. He's human & it wasn't our day but he doesn't deserve crude jokes.

I guess after having cancer, I forgot how deadly serious football is. My apologies to all who are offended. And all the best to Ole Miss.

@MarshallRamsey you made a joke, @RossBjorkAD is seen defending his players, end it there and everyone wins.

@p_worl @MarshallRamsey That's all is was. I've respected Marshall since I arrived. He's a good guy & I will always stand up for our teams

Going to walk away from fireworks here and go blow up some real ones. Appreciate @RossBjorkAD's opinion. Everyone else, have a great 2015.

A former newspaper reporter who has roamed the southeastern United States for years covering football and eating way too many barbecue ribs, if there is such a thing.
