Ole Miss run game comes alive in first half against Texas A&M

The Ole Miss Rebels entered Saturday night’s game against Texas A&M with one of the SEC’s worst rushing offenses, but you’d never know it the way the Rebels are playing against Texas A&M.
Ole Miss marched into a packed Kyle Field, and I mean packed, and ran the ball right down A&M’s throat, amassing 99 yards on 17 carries to build a 21-0 lead at halftime. Jaylen Walton leads the Rebels with 41 yards on six carries, but the true star in the run game has been quarterback Bo Wallace.
Wallace is not known as a running quarterback, but he carried the ball nine times for 39 yards, and casually waltzed into the end zone for not one, but two rushing touchdowns in the first half.
Furthermore, the Rebels averaged 5.8 yards per carry in the first half; Ole Miss averaged only 3.7 yards per carry in its first five games.
Leading by three touchdowns with 30 minutes to play, a strong rushing attack will be the Rebels’ best friend in the second half.
