It’s more than a decade away, but Ole Miss fans will have this exciting matchup against a Big Ten team to look forward to until it arrives.
According to Brett McMurphy of the Stadium Network, Ole Miss has scheduled a home-and-home series against Purdue that will take place in 2033-34. The Rebels will host the 2033 matchup, followed by the Boilermakers hosting the 2034 contest.
It will have been more a century since Ole Miss and Purdue have faced off when the two schools go head-to-head in Oxford, Miss., in 2033. The only previous meeting between the Rebels and the Boilermakers took place in 1929, which Purdue won, 27-7, in Lafayette, Ind.
Surely, a lot can change by the time these two games take place. Players who will be freshmen when these two teams play in 2033 are currently only 4 years old.
Nonetheless, fans will likely look forward to these matchups as they involve a pair of Power Five schools that typically never play each other.
This year, Ole Miss has started 2-2, while Purdue is currently 1-2.
