Ole Miss sophomore quarterback DeVante Kincade has decided to transfer.
Kincade announced his decision via Instagram late Monday that he plans to transfer somewhere closer to home, which is Dallas.
“I just wanted to thank god and the university of Mississippi for the opportunity to get a education, chase my dream and grow as a man,” he wrote. “I ran into people and built relationship with people that I will never forget and memories that I will go back in time and do it all over again, But I am Transferring some where closer to Tx. And I could take care of my mom.

Kincade’s brother died this past October.
Kincade didn’t see too much of the field this season after losing a three-way battle for the starting spot with Chad Kelly and fellow sophomore Ryan Buchanan. As of the last game of the season against Mississippi State, Kincade was third on the team’s depth chart behind both signal-callers.
Kincade only played in three games, completing 9 of 15 passes for 79 yards and one touchdown and rushed nine times for 87 yards.
Four-star quarterback Shea Patterson intends to enroll next semester. He’s ranked as the No. 1 pro-style quarterback and No. 18 player overall nationally, according to ESPN.
The Rebels also have three-star dual-threat QB Jason Pellerin, a true freshman who redshirted this season.
