Ole Miss TE Evan Engram named semifinalist for John Mackey Award

Sophomore tight end Evan Engram has been named a semifinalist for the John Mackey Award, given to the nation’s top tight end.
Engram has had a huge impact on Hugh Freeze’s offense in his two seasons in Oxford. The Powder Springs, Ga., native has recorded 48 catches, 678 receiving yards and five touchdowns, which ranks among the top five Ole Miss tight ends in all three categories.
Engram has caught 27 passes for 410 yards and two touchdowns, third best in the SEC among tight ends.
The John Mackey Award committee named eight semifinalists. The award will be announced on Dec. 10 and presented on Dec. 11 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show at 6 p.m. EST on ESPNU.
