A.J. Brown had planned to play both baseball and football at Ole Miss, but sometimes plans change.

The 2016 four-star recruit was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 19th round of the MLB Draft last month and has signed with the team.

However, Ole Miss fans will still see Brown in action for the Rebels this fall. According to The Clarion-Ledger, Brown will only forfeit his amateur status in baseball, leaving him free to play collegiate football.

The 6-foot-1, 220-pound receiver/outfielder played in both the Under Armour All-American baseball and football games during his high school career.

According to 247Sports.com, Brown was the No. 5 receiver in the class of 2016 and the No. 3 overall recruit from the state of Mississippi.
