Ole Miss wide receiver Ayden Williams has elected to enter the transfer portal after 2 seasons with the Rebels program, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. Williams will have 2 years of eligibility remaining.
Williams played in 11 games with the Rebels as a true freshman but didn’t see much involvement in the offense, making 4 catches for 80 yards while battling through a persistent groin injury. In 2024, he made 3 catches for 39 yards.
Williams was one of the top recruits in the 2023 class, rated by 247Sports’ composite as a 4-star recruit — the No. 16 wide receiver and the No. 82 player in the country. After a pair of seasons in Oxford, it looks as if a change of scenery is in the cards for the Ridgeland, Miss., product.
The Ole Miss wide receiver room will see plenty of change heading into 2025. Leading WRs Tre Harris and Jordan Watkins have declared for the NFL Draft; Juice Wells hasn’t officially declared yet but is widely expected to do so. Deuce Alexander (Wake Forest), Caleb Odom (Alabama), and De’Zhaun Stribling (Oklahoma State) are incoming transfers at the position, while heralded recruit Caleb Cunningham, the No. 3 WR in the class of 2025, will join the roster as well.
