Ole Miss WR Cayden Lee has emerged as a solid option for both Jaxson Dart and Trinidad Chambliss during his time in Oxford.
After three years with the Rebels, though, Lee may be looking for a new program.
Lee, on Saturday, revealed to On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he will enter the transfer portal. He will have one season of eligibility remaining.
Lee was a three-star recruit out of the Atlanta area for Ole Miss out of the Atlanta area in 2023. Though he made just five catches in 10 games as a true freshman, two of them — one in the 2023 season opener against Mercer and the other against Louisiana-Monroe — were for touchdowns.
His role increased as a sophomore as he was the Rebels’ third-leading receiver in 2024, making 57 catches for 874 yards and three TDs. That included a career-best 132-yard receiving day against LSU. In 2025, his 44 catches for 635 yards were fourth on the team. He made five catches for 67 yards in the College Football Playoff Fiesta Bowl semifinal against Miami on Jan. 8.
Lee’s decision comes just over a week after Chambliss’s request for a sixth year of eligibility was denied by the NCAA. Chambliss has filed a suit challenging the ruling.
Though Lee can obviously elect to return to Ole Miss in 2026, he’ll likely have his pick of programs if he doesn’t. He immediately becomes one of the most coveted wide receiver options in the portal today.
