The Florida-Georgia rivalry is moving into a new era.

This year’s matchup pits Gators coach Jim McElwain against Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart for the first time. Steve Spurrier was Florida’s head man from 1990-2001, which intersects Mark Richt’s tenure at Georgia that stretched from 2001-2015.

The 25-year span featured some great games in the rivalry, with both teams usually vying for the SEC East title.

That’s the case again for No. 15 Florida (5-1, 3-1), which currently holds a slim lead in the division. Georgia (4-3, 2-3), meanwhile is hoping to bounce back from an embarrassing Homecoming loss to Vanderbilt following its off week.

The game, known as The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, will kick off 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida, and be televised on CBS. The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 49-42-2.
