A pretty good crowd showed up for the Texas A&M Aggies’ first open practice in three years Friday night, and several high school prospects were in attendance, too.

Obviously, much of the crowd was anticipating on seeing the quarterbacks in action. Returner Jake Hubenak and newcomer Trevor Knight are competing for the starting job this spring. Reports indicate that Knight was the first quarterback to see action, and both he and Hubenak took first-team reps. A report from The Eagle says that Knight threw two touchdown passes in the second half of the scrimmage, including a nice fade to the back of the end zone.

One of the most exciting players in the country, Christian Kirk, is also crucial for the offense, and he must stay healthy this spring and through fall camp.

Texas A&M’s five-star quarterback commit Tate Martell was on hand to catch the action Friday night.
