Oregon Duck collapses after eye-popping modern scoring record

The Oregon Duck is one of the most recognizable mascots in American sports. And Oregon made his life difficult Saturday afternoon.

The Ducks football team demolished Portland State to start off the 2023 season, winning by an incredible score of 81-7. That’s a 74-point victory, which is a larger margin of victory than any D1 football final from last season (Western Kentucky over FIU, 73-0).

It’s also an Oregon record, marking the most points scored in a modern Ducks football game.

Just make sure you say a prayer for Puddles, who collapsed on the field after 546 total pushups following Oregon scores. The last 81 pushups really got to him, it seems.

The Ducks are an interesting team to look out for in a very open Pac-12. The dying conference has some strong teams looking to win perhaps the final Pac-12 championship ever at the end of the season.
