Justin Herbert is widely thought of as one of the best upcoming pro quarterback prospects, but he’s taking one more season in college to hone his skills.
Herbert announced Wednesday that he will return to Oregon for his senior year, ending any speculation about his future ahead of the Ducks’ bowl game against Michigan State.

The 6-foot-6 Herbert has thrown for more than 6,900 yards and 62 touchdowns since taking over for Oregon midway through his freshman season in 2016. He has done it all with a different coach each year, and continuity heading into his senior year may help him unlock even more of his potential.
His return will also make life more difficult for Auburn, which opens next season against the Ducks in Arlington, Texas. And if Herbert can return Oregon to the Pac-12 dominance it enjoyed in the Chip Kelly era, his decision to come back could totally alter the college football landscape.
