Joe Moorhead is back in Eugene and recovering from a non-COVID-19 illness that caused him to miss the Stanford game last week. Coach Mario Cristobal updated the media the Oregon offensive coordinator and former Mississippi State head coach.

Moorhead originally missed the Stanford game with a non-COVID disease that kept him sidelined for the game, and required surgery.

Mario Cristobal updated the media, including the Oregonian, about how Moorhead is doing.

“Joe is getting better,” said Cristobal. “Joe is in Eugene. He is recovering and our prayers and thoughts are with him and our support is with him as well. We’re glad that he’s finally home and getting better.”

Just like last week, Jim Mastro, the team’s running backs coach, will serve as the offensive coordinator for the Ducks game against Cal next week, if Moorhead is still unavailable. The team is off this week before it returns to Autzen Stadium to face the Golden Bears at 10:30 pm. ET on ESPN on Oct. 15.
