LSU defensive line coach Ed Orgeron has earned more money and more responsibility, according to a report that surfaced on Saturday.
The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger reports that Orgeron will replace former Tigers assistant coach Frank Wilson, who left in January to become the head coach at UTSA, as the team’s recruiting coordinator.
Orgeron, who is a former Ole Miss head coach, spent the 2015 season as the defensive line coach for the Tigers following a stint as USC’s interim head coach.
He was working on a two-year deal that was to paying him $450,000 per year through next spring.
Dellenger reports that Orgeron is expected to receive both an extension and a raise in addition to his new recruiting responsibilities.
Terms of the contract, which is still subject to the approval of the LSU Board of Supervisors, are not yet known.
