Things aren’t going too well for former SEC broadcaster Verne Lundquist today.

After retiring from his regular gig as the voice of SEC football, Uncle Verne will still continue to do the NCAA Tournament with CBS.
In his final year with the SEC, he was given gifts from across the land. From March Madness, however, the only gift he’s gotten so far is a ball in the face.
Without the grind of SEC football, we think Uncle Verne will enjoy a more relaxed life. Alhough his fast twitch muscles aren’t quite as refined as they used to be, it’s still nice to hear Verne back on the air.
