“The Verne Lundquist Appreciation Tour” will officially end on Saturday in Baltimore, Maryland.
Today’s Army-Navy game marks his last college football telecast before retiring. Beginning a professional career in 1967, Lundquist has been apart of many iconic sporting events. He’s called professional basketball, college basketball, college football, professional football, Olympic games, and golf matches — in addition to displaying his acting chops in the critically acclaimed film Happy Gilmore.
Lundquist was honored yet again with another tribute video. As he received numerous gifts, Lundquist was visibly very touched.
Those at Saturday Down South salute you, Verne, for an absolutely tremendous career.
We wish you well in all of your future endeavors.
Enjoy the Retirement!!! See ya at the masters!
Enjoyed the ride and the calls of the Prayer at Jordan-Hare and Kick Six.
Will he still get his paychecks from bammer though?
Why not, there’s is as good as anybody’s. Besides, he deserves all he can get for being slammed by every fan base in the SEC at one time or another.
