A day after it was announced that Ed Orgeron would leave LSU at the end of the 2021 season, a billboard of the soon-to-be former head coach has come down.

As you can see, the billboard is for popular chicken finger chain Raising Cane’s which was co-founded in Baton Rouge by Todd Graves in 1996.

Although the timing seems interesting, Graves took to Twitter to explain.

“Our contract for this billboard ended at the end of September and was removed as planned to prepare for another advertiser,” he said. “This was unrelated to yesterday’s announcement.”

Graves added that the company is in contact with Lamar, its billboard vendor, to post “Thanks Coach” signs around the city of Baton Rouge.
