A pair of key LSU players will return for the 2016 season

After losing tackle Jerald Hawkins to the NFL Draft on Wednesday, the Tigers received some good news on Friday.

A pair of key contributors in center Ethan Pocic and defensive tackle Christian LaCouture announced that they would return for their senior seasons.

According to The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger, sources say that Pocic received a second-round grade from the NFL College Advisory Committee before deciding to stay, and should rate as one of the top center prospects for the 2017 draft.

Given that grade, it seems as though a return from Pocic is a big win for LSU, especially with both starting tackles from the 2015 roster already out of the picture.

Dellenger reports that a position change may be in the cards for Pocic in the 2016 season.

As for LaCouture, a fractured forearm during the team’s bowl game may have impacted his decision to stay.
