Pair of SEC helmets take top 2 spots on The Spun’s list of ugliest helmets

Not every team is like Alabama, which uses the same, plain helmet year in and year out to great success.
Other schools switch up their helmets from time to time, but the changes aren’t always popular with fans and media members.
In fact, of the 10 ugliest helmets currently in college football, The Spun ranks two SEC helmets at the top of the list. According to this list, Tennessee’s “smoky gray” helmets and Florida’s gator skin helmets are the ugliest in all of college football.
Whether or not the gator-skin helmets return in 2018 remains to be seen, but recruits certainly seemed to like them.
That’s what college football is all about these days — landing top recruits — so both sets of “ugly” helmets could be around a while.
