Well that certainly didn’t take long. Despite the fact not a single NFL preseason game has been played, two of Texas A&M’s most recent draft selections – Brandon Williams and Drew Kaser – have already been named starters for their respective NFL clubs.
The Chargers recently released veteran punter Kasey Redfern after naming Kaser the team’s starter at punter. Kaser was a sixth-round draft choice by San Diego after recording the second-highest punt average (46.2) in NCAA history last season.
Former A&M punter Drew Kaser has won the starting punting job for the Chargers. Kaser will start as a rookie a year after Lambo did as well.

Kaser wasn’t the only former Aggie to receive some good news, as Arizona’s third-round pick Brandon Williams has been named the team’s starting cornerback by head coach Bruce Arians. Arians went so far as to say the job is Williams’ to lose:

The move to name Williams the starter is a bit of a surprise considering he only played one season at cornerback for Texas A&M after the former running back was converted from offense to defense. However Arizona has done a tremendous job in recent drafts of identifying talent and look to have done so yet again in landing the former Aggie.
