Pat McAfee and the rest of the College GameDay crew were in Pasadena, California, on Thursday in advance of a full slate of College Football Playoff games.
While this pick didn’t have the fanfare of a regular-season College GameDay finale, McAfee still found a way to bring some drama to his final pick. Sitting next to legendary Alabama coach Nick Saban, McAfee picked Indiana to advance over the Crimson Tide.
“Shoutout to Kalen DeBoer, you’re a phenomenal coach,” McAfee said. “I’m excited for how you’ve been able to fill in [Saban’s shoes] and everything like that. But this one’s written in the stars, brother. Indiana Hoosiers are winning the Rose Bowl.”
Saban, of course, picked the Crimson Tide to pull off the upset. Here’s a clip from GameDay:
Alabama is an underdog of nearly a touchdown, per the latest college football betting lines. The Crimson Tide do carry some momentum into this game, though, as they overcame a 17-0 deficit against Oklahoma in the first round of the CFP.
Indiana hasn’t played since its upset win over Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship Game on Dec. 6.
Kickoff from the Rose Bowl is set for 4 p.m. ET.
